On a recent trip to Florence, I loved wandering the cobbled streets and marvelling at the Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery. The one downside was that I seriously underestimated the heat. After just five minutes, I was praying for an air-conditioned chauffeur-driven car and threatening to strip down to my underwear! For my summer holiday in the South of France, I have given my fashion strategy an overhaul and am only packing loose cotton kaftans and simple separates that can be jazzed up with beach bags, sandals and a fedora.
