He's become one of the UK's best known performers since moving here in the 90s – now, after a year performing around the world, Reginald D Hunter is returning to Britain with his new tour, The Man Who Attempted To Do As Much As Such
With an honesty that borders on controversy, Hunter's been described as "searing" by the Independent and "provocative" by the Times. It's his meticulous attention to the details of life, as well as his willingness to tackle any issue, that really make him stand out from the crowd. Race, gender, politics – all fall well within his thoughtful and thought-provoking reach.
Still, he never neglects a juicy punchline, having brought TV hosts to tears of laughter in interviews and talk shows. He's a frequent face on television, making regular appearances on Have I Got News For You, as well as primetime shows like 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and QI.
Just last year he finished filming on Reginald D Hunter's Songs of the South, a three-part BBC2 series documenting an epic road trip from North Carolina to New Orleans through 150 years of American music. It recently finished airing and can still be found on BBC iPlayer.
