Running Organisers Spread Rainbow of Hope!
The Richmond RUNFEST and AIR:RUN organisers have joined the rainbow movement to Spread Hope to their community and thank all NHS staff on the front line.
Since the Corona outbreak, rainbow pictures are appearing on windows throughout the UK, Italy, Spain, USA and Canada to spread hope, kindness and boost morale to anyone who sees.
The Runfest team have announced they are spreading hope and togetherness at a time when we all need it by introducing a ‘Rainbow of Hope’ theme to both the Richmond RUNFEST (12th & 13th September) and AIR:RUN (postponed until 25th October) and are giving all NHS staff a FREE entry into the AIR:RUN.
Tom Bedford, Race Director of RUNFEST and AIR:RUN says: “Our World as we know it has changed for us all and we will feel this global impact for many months to come. There isn’t much in the form of positivity except for the exceptional acts of kindness happening around the World. It seems the one thing we have control of is kindness and goodwill so we are spreading hope to our community by introducing a rainbow theme to all our events and thanking the brilliant NHS staff for being our hero’s during this time.”
“Starting now the rainbow theme will flow through to race day with themed start/finish gantries, flags, banners and decorations. Runners, we encourage you to join in with rainbow running outfits to spread the message that we are in this together and in the autumn, WE WILL RUN TOGETHER.”
Supporting the ‘Rainbow of Hope’ theme is the key sponsor of the Richmond RUNFEST, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. Regional Manager (UK & Europe), Adrian White commented: “We fully support the organisers in their aim to spread hope and togetherness in the running community. I’m sure everyone involved will come together to send a message of positivity as well as huge gratitude to the NHS.”
