Our independent review
A mainstream independent school for boys aged from 13 to 18
The school describes itself as ‘a selective independent school in West London for bright, inquisitive boys aged 7–18 years.’ And they certainly are! In 2019 at A-Level, 80% of grades awarded were A*-A and at GCSE, 96%% of grades awarded were 9-7.
Brilliant teaching, incredibly rich curriculum and happy, bright and confident boys – a recipe for continued success. St Paul’s is a school that prides itself in value-added and is strongly anti league tables.
Extremely strong in sport, music and drama with superb facilities.
Boys move from the school’s prep school, Colet Court or externally – all selected through testing and interviewing process.
Several students head to Oxbridge each year and the rest to top UK and US universities.
About the school
St Paul’s School has been educating young scholars for over 500 years. Their entry points are at 7+, 8+, 11+, 13+ and 16+ and admission is following a successful examination process and interview.
Founder John Colet opened the doors to St Paul’s School in 1509 to educate boys “from all nations and countries indifferently”, regardless of race, creed or social background.
Committed to the founder’s vision they offer financial support for any boy who is successful in the entry procedure and fulfils the bursary criteria.
They wish to admit highly able, committed and curious boys; then to care for them in an academic environment tailored to their specific needs, and to equip them with the skills to contribute to wider society long after they have left St Paul’s.
This is a particularly exciting time to join the school as they have recently refurbished their sports hall and swimming pool, and created a new Astro-turf pitch; completed a stunning new Drama Centre, featuring the Samuel Pepys theatre; and constructed a RIBA award-winning Science building.
