Professor Noel Fitzpatrick was jamming with stars in Guildford earlier this month, as the One Live music festival came to town – the first ever music festival dedicated to medicine
While concertgoers might expect to see stars like Mike & the Mechanics, The Hoosiers and Hunter & the Bear on stage, those at the University of Surrey earlier this month may have been surprised to spot Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, Surrey's famous "doggy doctor" whose work everything from prosthetics to transplants has won him world records, medical awards and a truly devoted following.
One Live was a show was in support of The Humanimal Trust, the UK charity dedicated to inspiring new medical initiatives and research that can benefit us all – human and animal! The crossover is greater than you might think.
Noel was overjoyed that "for the first time in the history of veterinary medicine, we made a festival to celebrate medicine and health. We had the people who love the animals and who care about the animals in the field at the same time, celebrating that love through music."
"The feeling that everyone had leaving the field was very unique and special. It was unlike anything else that I have ever experienced."
