The wet weather put pay to several fixtures involving the region's teams but there were good home wins for Brentford and AFC Wimbledon, writes Michael Steward
Brentford returned to winning ways with an impressive 3-1 win against high-flying Bournemouth at Griffin Park. Alex Pritchard celebrates Brentford's second goal against Bournemouth on Saturday (above).
Jonathan Douglas fired The Bees in-front after nine minutes, before Marc Pugh levelled for the visitors on the half-hour mark.
Alex Pritchard’s long range free-kick just before half-time put Brentford back in the lead and Chris Long sealed the important win in the last minute.
The Bees stay seventh, only a point behind sixth placed Watford.
David Connolly’s injury-time winner gave AFC Wimbledon a 3-2 victory against Luton.
The Dons raced into a two-goal lead through Alfie Potter and Dannie Bulman before being pegged back by the visitors.
But Connolly’s late strike secured the points and moves Neal Ardley’s men back up to 12th, eight points off the play-off spots.
The weather played a big part in the involvement of the region’s other teams as Woking, Sutton, Kingstonian and Hampton and Richmond all saw their matches postponed.
Leatherhead were the only Ryman Premier League team in the region to survive the rain, recording a 0-0 draw away at Wingate and Finchley.
