Among the last of the warm-up games before the World Cup itself begins, Canada faces off against Georgia on the local grounds of Esher Rugby Club on September 2
Local rugby fans who've been unable to snap up tickets to World Cup matches might not need to despair - there are still warm-up games to go, and one of them is right on our doorstep.
Canada and Georgia will meet on the fields of Esher Rugby Club on September 2, with two-course dinners available ahead of the game, and a pre-match fixture of the Esher U18s against Reeds School.
The last time these national teams faced off was some two years ago in Tbilisi, a game rife with fouling and players taken off the field - perhaps to be expected in a clash between Georgia, known for its high-impact style of rugby, and Canada, home of ice hockey. Sharp-eyed referees will hopefully ensure a clean game this time around.
Whatever the result, Canada will be playing once more on English soil before the World Cup's start - against the formidable Fiji on September 6, at Twickenham Stoop.
Tickets are £15 (under-16s £5). Book online at Esher Rugby, or by calling 01932 220295
