Orchid Festival, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
The annual Orchid Festival returns to Kew Gardens this month, drenching the Princess of Wales Conservatory in colour and celebrating the drama and beauty of these glorious, extravagant plants. And, of course, the fabulous floral ocean provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic Valentine’s Day stroll.
The festival also marks the publication of the final volume of Genera Orchidacearum by Oxford University Press: a 15-year project of orchid classification.
