Enter Farnham’s photography competition
Entries are being invited for Farnham Town Council’s photography competition. Winning images being included in the 2014 edition of the official Farnham Town Guide. The best overall image will be considered for the front cover (pictured above: last year's cover).
The Town Guide is produced every two years and is aimed at visitors and tourists. It includes details about places to stay, information about surrounding villages, heritage, art and culture as well as a guide to things to do, places to visit and sport and leisure activities.
Around 40 photographs are used to illustrate the guide. Images of landscapes, community events, architecture and people are needed to freshen the latest version.
Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “We are looking for photos that capture the essence of Farnham and that will entice others to visit and explore the town. These days most people carry a camera with them, whether it is a camera phone, a tablet or conventional camera. I would like to urge all budding photographers to capture the best of Farnham and send in their photos so we can share them with others in the new town guide.”
Images should be taken in Farnham and its surrounding villages. Entrants can submit up to ten photos. The competition closing date is the end of January. Full terms and conditions and details about how to enter via email, Flickr and Facebook can be found at farnham.gov.uk.
