Local Photographer Jo Scott awarded highly commended at the Professional Photography Awards 2013
Last Wednesday saw the BIPP Professional Photography Awards held at Hartwell House in Buckinghamshire. Only those who have achieved a Fellowship of the BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photography) this year are allowed to enter this prestigious competition, judged by a panel of rigorous assessors.
After a long judging process, Surrey based photographer Jo Scott FBIPP has been awarded the Highly Commended, Peter Grugeon Best Fellowship 2013 award. The award is named after a Fellow of the Institute best remembered for his world-renowned images of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her Silver Jubilee in the 1970s.
Jo, who lives in Englefield Green, achieved this award for her beautiful black & white Fellowship portfolio illustrating the haunting desolation of Manchester’s Victoria Baths (pictured).
Speaking about the award, BIPP President Roy Meiklejon said: "It is an honour to acknowledge the achievements, pure skill and dedication of professional photographers. Those who have received awards produced some beautiful and original images which truly stood out from the crowd and encompassed what being a professional photographer is really about."
