Whatever floats your boat, this weekend of aquatic outings at the Great River Race & Teddington River Festival is sure to make a splash with the family
On Sept 7 the annual traditional boat championship returns to the borough as rowers tackle the gruelling 21mile course from London Docklands to the finish line at Ham House.
There are many terrific pitches along the route to witness the 300 crews battle the currents, with the winner arriving at Ham House at around 15.10pm. An ideal vantage at Chiswick Pier is open from noon.

If this has merely whet the appetite for riverside frolics, Sept 8 also sees the return of the Teddington River Festival at Teddington Lock.
Incorporating the annual RNLI Lifeboat Station open day, the festival offers live music, boat rides, kayaking and fairground rides, also plenty of food vendors to choose from.
Meet the Teddington lifeboat crew and watch them in action during a series of rescue demonstrations.
