TigerTime, a campaign of the Guildford-based David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, has teamed up with 17 global charities to back the new iPhone game app World of the Wild

The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation works to save endangered animals across the continents of Asia and Africa. Named for its founder, the famed artist-conservationist David Shepherd, the foundation uses its small size and non-bureaucratic organisation to its advantage, avoiding waste by supporting the activities of trusted individuals in the field.
With their help - and yours - poachers have been arrested, animals have been provided with security, and national parks have increased in size. One of the Foundation's biggest campaigns, TigerTime, works specifically to end the illegal trade in tiger parts across the world - and it's now backing an iPhone app where you can do just that.
World of the Wild, from Melbourne charity My Green World, is a free game app where players – kids and adults alike – can help save animals from poaching, illegal captivity, and the destruction of their habitats. Every action you can take is something that real charities are doing over the world, letting you learn more about how they're working to save it.
It might even inspire you to help out in real life!
"The mobile game market is home to thousands of apps that focus on destruction or demolition," says My Green World Director, Natalie Kyriacou, "and even those that feature animals tend to be about zoos, where you keep wild creatures in captivity. Why not give users a game with charitable and educational values?"
TigerTime's Vicky Flynn said that the Shalford-based charity were "thrilled" to be among the charities featured in the game, and hoped that "animal lovers and gamers everywhere can have fun and help wildlife at the same time!"
World of the Wild is free for iPhone users of all ages
Queen guitarist Brian May and Broadway star Kerry Ellis will be performing for guests of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation next month - you can still buy tickets
