It's time to prepare your oohs and aahs as we celebrate once more the anniversary of Guy Fawkes' foiled gunpowder plot to "blow you Scotch beggars [King James I and his Parliament] back to your native mountains". Whether you want a big official display or a smaller local affair, there's an event just right for you in the area.

Richmond Athletic Ground
There's a groovy 80s theme to this year's fireworks night at the Richmond Athletic Ground. Taking place on November 5, the display will be put together by the award-winning Phoenix Fireworks and choreographed to a plethora of 80s classics like Take on Me, Eye of the Tiger and I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Expect an abundance of young eyes to roll in embarrassment as mums and dads cut a rug to classics from their own youth.
There will also be live entertainment prior to the fireworks spectacle as well as funfair rides, mulled wine, hot food, candy floss and popcorn stalls, plus an after-party in the Members Bar. Gates will open from 4.30pm with the fireworks display set to take place at 7pm sharp.

Kingsmeadow Stadium
For the only organised firework display in Kingston, head to Kingsmeadow Athletics Stadium where Kingston Rotary Club and Kingston Round Table are jointly hosting a spectacular fireworks night on November 3. You can be assured of a display full of colour, noise and excitement set to music, as well as children’s fairground rides and music provided by Radio Jackie DJs live in the arena before the big display. Gates open 6.30pm, display starts at 8pm. Last entry 7.45pm.

Horsham Sports Club
Horsham Sports Club is hosting a firework night on October 28, with food stalls, a beer tent and an indoor bar to enjoy. The fireworks raise much needed funds for the club and there's also fairground rides, a hog roast and an opportunity to shake your tail feather after the display to a performance by local band Saviours of Soul in the clubhouse.

Woking Park
Woking's Rotary Club will be putting on another 'Fireworks Extravaganza' this year on Saturday, November 4. This annual fireworks display is one of the most popular family events in the Woking calendar and punters can look forward to Eagle Radio's tea time presenter Lewis Mason providing entertainment during the big build up to the display. A funfair will also be open before and after the fireworks.

Hook Road Arena
Epsom Fireworks display and funfair is at Hook Road Arena on November 4, with gates open at 5.30pm and the display commencing at approximately 7.30pm. This year the organisers are promising the display by award-winning Illusion Fireworks Ltd will be "The largest and most complex we have ever fired" with planning beginning immediately after last year's display finished. The final show has taken over 100 hours to design and will take a team of 25 pyrotechnicians (great word) to deliver!

Ripley High Street
High Street, Ripley, GU23 6BB
The 'Legendary' Ripley Bonfire will be held on and around Ripley High Street on October 28, with a funfair open from 2pm. The fancy dress and floats competition will be judged at 6.45pm and the torchlit procession down the high street commences at 7.10pm. The bonfire is lit at 7.30pm, with fireworks at 8pm. Each year this event attracts up to 15,000 people and there's a real carnival vibe throughout. You can even volunteer to help build the famous bonfire on the three Sundays leading up to the big event!

Lingfield Park Racecourse
Lingfield Park will host its annual fireworks display on November 4. The gates to the event will open at 5pm, with funfair rides, sideshows, music, stalls and great food to enjoy before a shimmering shower of colours cascade across the night sky. There's also a number of VIP packages available and those looking to avoid the crowds and cold of early November can choose to book a two-course fireworks buffet in the glass-fronted Trackside Restaurant which offers diners a superb view of the firework finale.

A spectacular bonfire and fireworks display at Wentworth Club. There will be food and drink available in the covered driving range bays as well as the tennis and health club from 5.30pm with BBQ specialities like the Club Burger or Director's Sausage on offer. Ottershaw Junior School will be hosting a Harry Potter themed fireworks event on November 7 this year. I am going to repeat that for emphasis: HARRY POTTER THEMED! After the rip roaring success of last year's Star Wars theme, the Ottershaw PTA has decided the boy wizard is the perfect follow up and guests can look forward to a magical display. Fancy dress encouraged!

The Burys Field

Godalming will host a musical firework 'Disco Inferno' on November 3 with a funfair, food and drink concessions plus a torchlit procession led by the Reading Scottish Pipe Band that sets off from the bottom of Church Street at 7.15pm. Gates open at 6pm and the fireworks display will be choreographed to a special disco soundtrack from 8pm onwards.

Battersea Park hosts its wonderfully titled 'Ignite the night' firework display on November 4. Gates open at 6pm with pre-show entertainment, food stalls and plenty of bars to sample. Bonfire starts at 7.30pm and a 22 minute fireworks display set to music inspired by this year's theme – 'Power' – will begin at 8pm. Expect an electrifying night's entertainment!

Brockham Green

With a history going back 140 years, the Brockham Bonfire Night is a traditional ‘family’ event of fun and celebration with a rich heritage that aims to raise funds for local societies, worthy causes and charities. Activities during the day include a children's fancy dress competition and charity stall market. This year's bonfire night will take place on November 4 with a torch lit procession at 6.15pm, bonfire lighting at 7.45pm and fireworks display at 8.15pm. There's even a roast pig auction to get involved with after the display!
N.B. The centre of Brockham becomes a traffic exclusion zone from 5.30pm until at least 10.30pm.

Taking place on November 4, Collis Primary School is organising a fun 'Now That's What I Call Fireworks' night that will choreograph chart topping hits from this year to an enthralling fireworks display. There will be mulled wine, food and entertainment with gates opening at 5pm and the display at 6.30pm.

Royal Windsor Racecourse
Fireworks set to the theme of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Why not! You'll find a magical world of pure imagination at Royal Windsor Racecourse on November 4, with Oompa Loompas distributing treats throughout and a variety of Willy Wonka wonders to enjoy. All attendees even get a golden ticket to enter a special prize draw where five lucky winners will each receive £500 cash and a year's worth of chocolate and sweets from the event's partner – Nestle.
Along with standard admission there's a variety of other packages to consider including boat trips to watch the shimmering display on the river, separate funfair admission and a two-course Charlie and the Chocolate Factory hot buffet in the racecourse's Royal Suite.

Guildford Lions' Fireworks Fiesta is back by popular demand on November 4. The evening starts with an amazing torchlight procession that will leave Guildford's Guildhall at 7pm, and will be led by the Sea Cadets Marching Band. On arrival at Stoke Park the crowd will be entertained by Peter Gordon from Eagle Radio before the spectacular firework display managed by the largest firework display company in the UK – Pains Fireworks

Chiddingfold Green

Chiddingfold will host its annual Bonfire and Firework Spectacle on November 4. There's plenty of different stalls and activities to get involved with including a fun fair and procession of 400 torches from St Mary's starting at 7pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm and the fireworks display starts at 8pm. Shuttle bus service running throughout.
N.B. Roads in the village will be closed from 3pm

Cranleigh Common
Taking part on November 4, the Cranleigh Lions Bonfire and Fireworks Night is famous locally as a perfect evening's entertainment for the whole family. Benson's Fun Fair will be operating on the common from Friday evening and starts up on the Saturday at 1pm. At 3pm local kids are encouraged to come down to Stocklund Square and enter a creation in the Make-a-Guy competition with the top three earning prizes. The winning Guy will be carried at the front of the torchlit procession – starting at 5.45pm this year – and will be placed on top of the bonfire. The bonfire starts at 6.50pm and a fireworks display set to music will start at 7.30pm

Farnham Park

Farnham Park Fireworks is taking place on November 4 and is organised by Farnham Round Table. The evening starts with a torchlight procession led by a Scottish pipe band. The Hogs Back Brewery will be providing a bar and there will be a live guest band performing as well.

Green Lane Primary & Nursery School
Green Lane School Fireworks display is on November 3, with a quiet 'bang-free' display on at 6.15pm as well as a more traditional display at 7pm. There will be a plethora of fab food and drink with a hog roast, dumplings, soup, mulled wine and hot chocolate to look forward to. Fun rides and glow products for kids will also be on offer.

The Berrylands Scout Group will be organising a community fireworks night on November 4, from 6-9pm. The event will be held at the Berrylands Scout HQ in Surbiton and will include a BBQ and refreshments as well.

Haslemere Museum's firework and bonfire evening on November 4, doors open at 6.30pm with fireworks staring at 7.30pm proceeded by the lighting of the bonfire. The display is being organised by Firebird Entertainment this year and there will be an array of refreshments available at the museum's cafe and bar.
