Derren Brown, the famed mentalist, has reinvented the Ghost Train as a multisensory experience for Chertsey's Thorpe Park. It opens Spring 2016
The Ghost Train is a staple of theme parks and circuses everywhere, but mentalist Derren Brown is set to update the idea at Thorpe Park for the 21st century – in true mindbending fashion.
Passengers ready to shake in their boots will climb aboard a seven-tonne Victorian-style train carriage, suspended above the ground by great chains in a disused Victorian warehouse. A quarter of an hour later, they'll emerged, sweating and scared after a unique experience with multiple different spine-tingling stories.
Every passenger on Derren Brown's Ghost Train will be equipped with a special VR helmet, to offer them a full horrifying experience that exploits all the senses – from classics like sight and sound to more insidious effects like temperature changes.
The ride reportedly took three years to develop, and opens in Spring 2016. Prepare to be scared!
