Commuters affected by the Waterloo upgrade should keep an eye out for two very special teenagers today as Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has sent two adorable Jack Russell Terriers to the station to cheer people up
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has today sent two adorable Jack Russell Terriers on a mission: to help make commuters at London Waterloo smile during the August engineering works.
The inseparable duo and former Battersea residents, 14-year-old Mollie and 16-year-old Millie, are also spreading the word that plenty of their friends back at the world-famous animal charity are in desperate need of homes of their own.
Rob Young, London Centre Manager at Battersea, said: “Here at Battersea we know the power of dogs and cats and their ability to ease stress and bring out the best in people, even during times of travel disruption. It’s great to see Mollie and Millie cheer up commuters during Network Rail’s engineering works and we hope it’s been the highlight of their August travels.
“We’re also here to remind people that Battersea has many wonderful dogs like Mollie and Millie looking for new owners who can take them on an incredible journey of their own. If you are thinking of taking on a new pet, don’t delay - pick up a one-way ticket to Battersea today.”
Well at least there will be two London residents happy about the Waterloo upgrade becoming a dog's dinner!
