Wallaby spotted on A3
A wallaby has reportedly been seen on the A3 near Godalming.
The forest-dweller, typically found in Australia, was sighted around 10.20am today.
Surrey Roads Police responded to the report and went to the scene of the sighting.
They tweeted: "So.....we're currently investigating reports of a Wallaby on the #a3 near Godalming.....we'll let you know the outcome!!"
Twitter users were quick to poke fun at the unusual claim, encouraging Surrey Police not to 'jump to any conclusions.'
"Hop-a-long and find out can you...." joked another tweep. "I think someone is taking the mickey out of you!" added another.
In their latest update, Surrey Police tweeted: "Fortunately the Wallaby didn't cause any issues on the a3 and it's identity remains unknown. We're checking local farms and small holds."
