Death outside Cardinal Wolsey pub in Hampton
The landlord of the Cardinal Wolsey pub in Hampton has been charged with manslaughter after a 53-year-old man died in a collision with a van outside the pub on Hampton Court Road on 7 September.
Rostam Notarki, 52, is alleged to have run at the man, who has now been identified as American Charles Hickox, with an ironing board.
He is then alleged to have pushed him into the road, whereupon he was hit by a van and pronounced dead at the scene.
It is said that the pub's CCTV camera was removed from the wall and hidden on the premises after the incident.
Notarki, of Beech Way, Twickenham appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court Wednesday, 10 September. He was further charged with perverting the course of justice.
In a statement defending himself, Iranian born Notarki said Hickox had become violent and attacked him with tennis rackets.
A 19-year-old man who was also arrested has been bailed to return pending further enquiries.
A 49-year-old man who was originally bailed to return on 24 September has now been released without charge.
A fourth man was arrested on 10 September on suspicious of perverting the course of justice. The 45-year-old has been bailed to return on a date in late September.
The van driver stopped at the scene. He was not arrested.
