Home Secretary Theresa May visits Thames flood defence scheme
Home Secretary Theresa May today joined Surrey County Council Leader David Hodge at Molesey Lock and Weir near Hampton Court.
They discussed the River Thames Scheme after the government announced £60m of extra funding for the flood defence project.
The news that the government is increasing funding for the much anticipated scheme was announced this morning.
It followed calls from both the public and local councils to better protect residents affected by last year's flooding.
