SWALK: Fight cancer by walking through the gorgeous Surrey Hills

Look Good Feel Better are organising a fundraising walk through the lovely Surrey Hills. Keep the whole family fit whilst helping raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer

On Sunday June 12, hundreds of supporters will join national charity, Look Good Feel Better, as they walk through the Surrey Hills, raising awareness and funds for women and teenagers living with cancer.

Look Good Feel Better is the only global cancer support charity created to help women combat the visible side effects of their treatment. This confidence-boosting service is available in 26 countries and collectively the charity has supported more than 1.7m people to date.

Over 165,000 women receive a cancer diagnosis in the UK each year, LGFB aims to ensure that all of these women have the opportunity to benefit from its services. They run free skincare and make-up Workshops in over 83 hospitals and cancer support centres nationwide and more than 250 Masterclasses are held each year. This has enabled the charity to reach 15,500 women and teenagers face to face in 2015 with thousands more supported online.

The walk is suitable for the whole family and dogs are welcome too. Starting and finishing at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, participants can choose to stroll 6km or a slightly more challenging 12km through some of Surrey’s most beautiful countryside.

As you complete the route, you’ll collect special 'kiss' stickers that can be exchanged for an awesome beauty goody bag. There will also be a unique Beauty Village after the walk, where some of the Industry’s top beauty brands will offer a range of experiences and treatments such as mini make-overs, massages and demonstrations.

LGFB Executive Director, Sarahjane Robertson comments; “I’m delighted that our first ever sponsored walk will be held in such a beautiful part of Surrey. There will be plenty going on during and after the walk, and it will make for a really different day. I’ll be bringing along friends, family and lots of dogs! I hope to see you all at the starting line.”
