Two lanes of the southbound A3 have reopened following a fatal collision at Ripley in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called to the southbound carriageway at just after 3am following reports that a white Volvo lorry had collided with a pedestrian just after Ripley services.
Emergency services attended the scene where a man had suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after.
The southbound A3 was currently closed at Ockham while an investigation is carried out, but two lanes have now reopened.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to contact police. Anyone with information is asked to call the Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference P14267714.
