Prudential Ride London-Surrey road closures
Don't get caught out by road closures in Surrey and Richmond this weekend! See above for full timetable of all local closures.
Routes for the cycling events must be secured and made clear of all vehicles to help ensure the safety of participants, spectators and local residents. The roads that make up the route in Surrey will begin to close from 05:00. This is to allow for any barriers not already installed to be put in place, safety checks to be carried out and stewards and volunteers to get in place.
Hampton Court Bridge will re-open after 11:00, but Kingston Bridge will remain closed. Walton Bridge will re-open in both directions from 11:30.
A short rolling closure between 13:45-14:15 will permit the professional race to pass safely.
The A3 will be open all day, although the junctions at Esher Common, Coombe Lane and Tibbet’s Corner will be closed. The M25 is open as normal.
The A246 will be open all day between West Horsley and Young Street, giving access to the south side of Leatherhead town centre via Hawk’s Hill.
The A29 is not used for the event in 2014.
A number of bridges in central London will be closed until the evening.
Waterloo Bridge, Blackfriars Bridge and London Bridge will remain open all day but may be busy.
Hammersmith Bridge is open but is expected to be very busy.
Richmond Park will be closed to vehicles during the event day (Sunday 10 August) and open from 07:00 on Monday 11 August. Richmond Park is open on Saturday 9 August.
