Man in court after discovery of cannabis factory near Copthorn

A 47 year-old man has appeared in court in relation to a cannabis factory being discovered near Copthorne.

Andy Andrews appeared at South East Surrey Magistrates Court on Monday (October 27) charged with production of a Class B drug.

The charges relate to a property in Antlands Lane, Shipley Bridge, near Copthorne which Surrey Police officers searched on Friday 24 October. During the search they found approximately 300 cannabis plants, a quantity of cash and hydroponics equipment.

Andrews, of Antlands Lane, Shipley Bridge, has been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on November 13, 2014.
