A major fire at an industrial estate in Staines brought the town centre to a standstill today, as roads were closed and around 40 residents were evacuated.

Around 100 firefighters tackled the fire tackled the blaze at Renshaw Industrial Estate, Mill Lane, Staines after being called to the fire shortly after midnight.
At the fire’s height, 20 engines from four fire services fought the flames.
Witnesses say they heard 'explosions'.

Currently there are six fire engines, several specialist vehicles and officers at the scene.
The fire is now under control. No one has been hurt, and residents who have not been evacuated have been asked to stay in their homes and keep their windows and doors closed.
Several roads near the fire are still closed and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
Fire crews have been working alongside police, ambulance, local authority, Environment Agency, local utility companies and the Red Cross to deal with the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
