Congratulations to the Woodall family who have secured the nomination for ITV London's Fundraiser of the Year in the annual Pride of Britain Awards, which take place in the capital later this month.
Vicki and James from Redhill in Surrey founded George and the Giant Pledge after their son George (then four) was diagnosed with bone cancer. While he underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and operations, Vicki, James, their family, friends and a raft of local supporters got stuck into raising some serious cash for The Royal Marsden Hospital - and after just two years the total stands at an amazing £800,000.
George is thankfully cancer-free, and the family can look forward to hitting that £1m total as well as attending the star-studded bash hosted as ever by Carol Vorderman. Win or lose, everyone at Essential Surrey would like to say a big 'congratulations' on what you have achieved so far. Definitely winners in our eyes!
