Banham Group supplies security systems across the South-East and London, and recently supported security of a different kind with the Royal Marsden Hospital
Top local provider of security systems, Banham Group engages in a number of initiatives and presentations with an eye to helping others stay safe, under the aegis of the Town Centre Crime Reduction Partnership. Guildford Crime Prevention Day, for instance, saw them take to the streets alongside Crimestoppers and Surrey Police to provide free advice to residents.
Lately, however, a different kind of safety has been on their minds, as they became the first sponsor of the Royal Marsden Hospital's 14-mile Marsden March.
Over 5,500 people participated in the event, but official figures have been released that place Banham Group in the top 3% of funders, with staff raising over £17,000 for the charity - including all Banham Directors and Chairman Charles Hallatt.
‘We're proud that so many members of the Banham team participated to raise funds for this vital cause", he said. "The Marsden March really brings the community together, and helps raise funds and awareness for life-saving research."
The Royal Marsden Hospital offers some advice on their website for preventing and detecting cancer early, while the Banham Group offered us five top tips for beating burglars:
- "Always close windows when you are out, and ensure French windows and patio doors are secure. Set your burglar alarm whenever you leave, as many burglaries occur when the alarm isn't set. If you don’t have an alarm, we recommend you get one fitted."
- "Always secure your shed or garage and don’t leave ladders or other tools outside. Spades, hammers and screwdrivers can all help a burglar gain access to your home."
- "Around half of all burglaries happen in empty homes. Make sure your home looks occupied when you are out or abroad for example, by using an automatic timer to switch the lights on and off."
- "Before going away on holiday cancel milk, newspaper and other regular deliveries and ask a friend or your local Neighbourhood Watch scheme to keep an eye on your home while you are away."
- "Don’t let ‘distraction burglars’ or bogus callers trick their way into your home. Use a door chain, always check their identity card carefully, and if in doubt, keep them out!."
