The Taste of Thames Ditton returns to the OC club for a second year running, the family food festival promises plenty of mouth watering fun for foodies to wrap their taste buds around
Get salivating for the second Taste of Thames Ditton which will be taking place July 23 at The OC Club on the Portsmouth Road, Thames Ditton. Building on the inaugural event in 2015 it is planned to be bigger and better than last year.
The event is the idea and brainchild of JJ Griffin who runs the OC Club originating on the back of a drunken chat with two of the OC Club’s hockey ladies back in early 2015. The event celebrates the local community, with food, produce, drink and artisan craft makers from Thames Ditton, Elmbridge and across Surrey. Putting Thames Ditton and the OC Club firmly on the map the festival organisers are keen to make this a key annual event in the diary for local residents to enjoy within the picturesque 10 acres setting of the OC Club.
JJ has been working closely with the local sponsors Cooper BMW Thames Ditton & Ivy Gate Estate Agents to help promote and grow the event and ensure there is something of interest for all the family.
“We have been working hard on the back of the successful inaugural event which we held in 2015 and we have been working hard to make this bigger and better than last year. We have concentrated on working with sourcing more local contributors where we can this year, and have been gratefully helped by the local community in so many different ways. It has been really quite touching to get the assistance of so many club members, local residents and businesses as we celebrate what a wonderful place we live in."
"From Canadian, Columbian and Chinese food, to Italian coffee, local beers from Claygate and Champagne suppliers in Leatherhead. These stalls will be serving all day from 12 noon whilst the local Surrey bands will provide a great atmosphere and vibe until around 9pm in the evening. When all that is combined with the entertainment companies providing the Nerf Zone, Zorbs and inflatables, we are expecting this to be an event to remember. Not to mention the interactive drumming sessions that we are planning to have throughout the afternoon. It’s going to be epic!”
