Experience the Best of British at Dudley House
Little Dudley House, in Dorking, has really been on the up since entrepreneur John Turner – whose other interests include Borough Market’s Roast and Indian haute cuisine restaurant The Cinnamon Club in Westminster – took over the reins last year.
British cuisine is at the heart of the menus, with a medley of meat dishes centre stage – as you’d expect from the owner of Roast – and a host of local suppliers behind the scenes, such as Ockley Farm, Westcott Bakery, The Vineyard (Dorking) and Robert & Edwards butcher (Reigate).
“Over the coming months, expect to see more vintage British dishes, such as faggots with peas and onions and salt beef with carrots and dumplings,” says John. “There will be new interpretations of old favourites, like the humble Scotch egg, and a new take on modern classics such as scallops with black pudding and shaved apple.”
Sunday lunches and Saturday breakfasts are proving popular, with an introductory offer of a 2 for 1 on main breakfast dishes until March 14 (just go to the website and print off the leaflet), as well as unlimited tea and coffee for £2.
