A fascinating road-trip from Iranian auteur, Jafar Panahi, depicting rural life in the remote Turkish-Azeri-speaking part of Iran. An actress receives an upsetting phone video in which a provincial girl pleads for help but is it genuine ? She hitches a ride with Panahi to get to the bottom of the matter…En route, they have a number of amusing encounters but find themselves confronted with several diehard traditions.
Winner of the Best Screenplay at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, ‘3 Faces’ is the fourth film made by Panahi during his 20-year filmmaking ban imposed by the government of Iran.
