HYPED, Hyperloop.
HYPED, Hyperloop.
Sussex & Surrey Area IMechE Committee are delighted to invite you to our Hyperloop Technical Lecture. This lecture will give an overview of the Hyperloop Project and its future potential.
Historically, the United Kingdom has always been at the forefront of technological progress in infrastructure: from the first steam railway between Manchester and Liverpool in 1829, the daily London to Edinburgh service on the “Flying Scotsman” from 1862 or the opening of the first underground railway in the world on the London Metropolitan line in 1863.
Hyperloop is Elon Musk’s concept for the future of mass transportation. The concept would see electrically propelled pods travel autonomously through a near-vacuum tube.
Imagine the future, Reigate to London Bridge in 3 minutes…!
HYPED is a student society at the University of Edinburgh dedicated to accelerating the development of Hyperloop and implementing the technology in the UK. HYPED is advancing both technical and commercial development of Hyperloop, having seen success in two international competitions.
The talk is FREE and open to the general public, but prior registration is required.
