The Civilisations Festival is an exciting partnership between museums, galleries and the BBC to coincide with the broadcast of BBC Arts' Civilisations series in the Spring. As part of the festival, Haslemere Museum will be showcasing a range of events to engage and inspire adults and children focused on the various civilisations represented in their diverse collections. Highlights include insightful gallery talks based around local early Romano-British cinerary urns representing an interesting cultural transition period in the area as well as object handling sessions enabling visitors to touch and explore objects from the Egyptian collection. The Museum will also be running a family drop in art workshop led by local artist, Diana Burch, using objects from the extensive collection of Asian artefacts and a Russian inspired crafts session for children aged 5-11years.
