Win £100 vouchers for your best scarecrow at Garsons Esher
By popular demand, Garsons of Esher is bringing back its famous Build A Scarecrow Competition to celebrate 35 years of pick your own at the farm in West End. Children, adults, families, schools and local organisations are all encouraged to try their hand at building a scarecrow – with prizes for the best creations.
No special skills are required and any materials creators have to hand will be eligible, as long as the end result fulfils the basic criteria of a scarecrow – deterring birds from raiding the crops around it! Past entries have been inspired by everything from the Queen to Harry Potter to Olympic athletes and even liquorice allsorts, so imagination is the name of the game.
The top three scarecrows will each be awarded Garsons vouchers to spend: £25 for third place, £50 for second and £100 for the winning entry. There is no limit to the number of entries an organisation can make, so schools can build a scarecrow in every class if they wish.
Participants must register online by 1st July at http://www.garsons.co.uk/what-s-on/scarecrow-competition/ and then bring their scarecrows to Garsons on Tuesday 5th or Thursday 7th July between 4pm and 6pm. Judging will take place in the pick your own fields at Garsons on Saturday 9th July at 9.30am and all entries will be displayed alongside our crops, for all to view.
