Guildford Opera return to the Electric Theatre with Bellini’s version of Romeo and Juliet.
The tale of the warring Capulets and Montagues pursuing an increasingly bitter and bloody feud, whilst the son and daughter of the divided families conduct a secret love affair, is brought vividly to life by Bellini’s wonderful music which heightens the human dilemmas at the heart of the story. Singing in English, the young cast of Callie Swarbrick (Juliet), Alexia Mankovskaya (Romeo) and Jack Tebbutt (Tebaldo) are supported by John Mills (Lorenzo) and James Davis (Capellio). Also featuring the Guildford Opera chorus and orchestra led by their new Musical Director Lewis Gaston and Stage Director Stephen Oliver, who will give a preshow talk before the Wednesday performance at 6.30pm.
