This talk is an examination of the final months of the war and the implications for the Post-War World, when at 3.00pm on 8 May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill announced on the radio that the war in Europe had come to an end, following Germany's surrender.
Although it may have appeared inevitable that the Soviet Union captured Berlin and that the Iron Curtain descended from Stettin to Trieste, this was not the case. Had Operation Market Garden, Arnhem succeeded or had Hitler been assassinated, what would have happened then?
