WWT
Project Godwit
Wed 1 - Thu 2 March
In a world where waders are facing increasing pressures and many populations have declined or are declining, there is a growing interest in headstarting as a conservation tool. Headstarting is a relatively new technique for waders. It is showing promise for some species in some situations, but there is a lot to learn and many pitfalls to avoid.
Project Godwit is running a conference at WWT London to bring together those involved in headstarting and related methods for birds, and those interested in learning about the technique, with the aim of sharing information, improving collective understanding and helping to ensure this method is effectively developed, deployed and monitored.
