The Shah Jahan Mosque was built in 1889, and is the first purpose-built mosque and the first Grade I listed mosque in Britain. The exhibition explores the history of the building and the fascinating intertwined narratives of both the people of Woking and of those that visited and worked at the mosque.
The historical research reveals the significant history of the establishment of Muslim organisations and figures in Britain, whilst the personal stories uncover less well-known aspects of history.
On display on the ground floor of the building.
