Emily's hello – Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead Magazine, February 2016
This month I managed to escape the office early one afternoon to attend the afternoon service at St George’s Chapel.
What a special occasion: just a handful of us sitting in the stalls, soaking up the soothing, melodious sounds of the Lay Clerks celebrating Epiphany.
Imbued with the reassuring spirit of the majestic building, I headed for another inviting, candlelit haven: The Two Brewers on Park Street.
So popular was it that my friend and I were booted off our table to make way for booked hungry diners to eat. Next time I’m making a reservation too!
Another inspiring recent encounter was with Sunningdale resident Julia Roberts, one of the original presenters on the UK’s QVC shopping channel.
Great to learn about Julia’s unusual career path, plus how she has fought against childhood polio and recent leukaemia to fulfil, at the age of 57, her youthful longing to write novels.
A reminder to us all that our dreams are always within our grasp – regardless of age.
Have a great month.
