
Feel Good Festival at Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace is the setting for this new wellbeing festival, which promises hands-on wellness workshops, guided practices, drop-in clinics and of course, food, drink and shopping.
Speakers include ‘joyologists’ Donna Easton and Nick Ede, chef Chris Baber discussing good mood food and tips on ‘dressing for dopamine’, as well as sound bath workshops, pilates and yin yoga sessions and crafting events.

Farnham Literary Festival

There are more than 50 events taking place at this year’s Farnham Literary Festival which runs from March 6-16.
Headliners include David Walliams, Rev Richard Coles, Louis De Bernières and Lorraine Kelly. As well as talks from acclaimed novelists such as Kate Summerscale, Nicci French and Santa Montefiore, there will be flash fiction workshops, memoir writing sessions, local author events and open mic nights. One of this year’s highlights is a History Day at the first Cistercian monastery in Britain, Waverley Abbey with history writers Damien Lewis, Alison Weir, Nicola Tallis and Louise Morrish (March 9, 10 am-4 pm, £47).

Richmond’s Orange Tree Theatre has announced the launch of a new Friday Rush initiative. Each Friday at midday a limited number of tickets will be made available to book online and through the box office for the week ahead. The first Friday Rush is a chance to get tickets for the now sold-out Churchill in Moscow before it closes on March 8. Starring Roger Allam, the show has broken records and become Orange Tree’s fastest-ever selling show. Playhouse Creatures, starring Anna Chancellor, opens on March 15.

Cancer Research UK’s Children’s Good as New Sale, Esher College

Head to Esher College this month for Cancer Research UK’s Children’s Good as New Sale. This twice yearly event rehomes thousands of pre-labelled children’s clothes, toys and equipment. Sellers get 75% of the sale prices, CRUK receives 25% of the profit. Such is the scale of the event that over 70 volunteers are needed before, after and during the sale.

Sounds of Blossom at Kew Gardens

In collaboration with the Royal College of Music, Sounds of Blossom will bring the spectacular spring blossom at Kew Gardens to life. Students from the college have composed several new compositions, commissioned by Kew and inspired by the glory of spring, which will be played around the Gardens in Kew’s blossom hotspots.

Henri Matisse exhibition at the Lightbox, Woking

The Lightbox in Woking will host the Hayward Gallery’s impressive touring exhibition of Henri Matisse.
