Railway 200 Family Fun Weekend

Celebrate 200 years of rail on the weekend of 16–17 August with rides on Stephenson’s iconic Rocket locomotive as well as a miniature train ride for the little ones. Enjoy picnics, live jazz, homemade cream tea and a shady woodland walk. This event is a memorable celebration of passenger rail travel. Check out Kempton Steam Museum next door for more steam history.

Join the dinosaur train adventure on 13–14 September! Hunt for raptors, meet ‘Dino’ the dinosaur train and enter the prize competition. Watch out for roaming dinos in the picnic area! Enjoy rides on the miniature train with your little explorers. Great play area with play train.

Celebrate 200 years of rail on 20–21 September with train rides on a replica of Stephenson’s iconic Rocket. There’s live jazz, homemade cream teas, a miniature train for the little ones, and a chance to meet Mr. Stephenson, as part of the nationwide Railway 200 campaign that honours the legacy of rail and inspires the next generation. Enjoy a steam-filled weekend on 18–19 October with rides behind Darent, the railway’s heritage 1903 locomotive. Relax with a picnic, let kids explore the play train, and enjoy snacks, drinks, and ice cream. A perfect autumn day out with free parking. Kempton Steam Museum next door is also open with its awesome giant steam pumping engine, high as four double-decker buses, in action.
