Going to the cinema has been a favourite of mine ever since I was a little girl. When you can't think of anything to do, going out to the cinema is an idea you can fall back on time and time again. It's a setting where we go to fall in love, a hotspot to hit with friends and for a fun night with the family.
So, if you're looking for the best cinemas in Surrey & SW London here are our favourites, from members-only clubs to blockbuster favourites, here are the cinemas we can't get enough of...
Everyman Cinema

Everyman Cinemas is a chain of cinemas, which started with just one in Hampstead in 2000. Now, the theatre company is one of the fastest growing brands in the country and has completely transformed The Screen Cinema in Reigate, which is now the Everyman Reigate.
The services and food and drink selection is truly part of the experience at the Everyman. The food on offer isn't just popcorn and fizzy drinks, customers can order anything from pizza to cookie dough and even have it delivered to their seats. And their film schedule is just as brilliant and unique as they screen something for everyone

Cine Lumiere

Cine Lumiere, which is located in South West London is a secret gem. It's a part of the Institut français du Royaume-Uni, which was founded back in 1910. But what's special about Cine Lumiere is not just its French atmosphere, but its programme, which showcases some of the best films from the Cannes Film Festival and alternate movies you wouldn't find in the big chain cinemas. Plus, there's no drink or food allowed!

Curzon Richmond

The Curzon cinema is a small, intimate cinema that that can be traced all the way back to 1914. If an intelligent, thought-provoking film is something you're after then make sure to head to Richmond for screenings of lesser-known arthouse films. It's a cinema for real theatregoers, there's no popcorn, no crowds and it's worth the extra few pounds.

Harlequin Theatre

Don't visit this cinema and expect an IMAX experience, rather expect a local cinema with a big heart. The Harlequin Theatre in Redhill has the adjoining Waller Cinema, which programs regularly features your Hollywood blockbusters, popular dramas and children favourites (they even have a Baby Club, where you can enjoy the latest screenings with your baby). The cinema is cosy, affordable and has a wide range of snacks and refreshments available.

Fairfield Halls

Fairfield Halls is currently going over a £30 million makeover, due for completion in 2018 the renovation will see Fairfield Halls be made over into a state of the art performance venue. But, we all know the Fairfield Halls has royal status when it comes to music and theatre. Hence why it's made the list!

The Godalming Film Society is a members-only organisation focusing on the best of independent and world cinema. With new seasons running from September to May, the society takes profits from membership and invests it back into the screenings. They're so brilliant because they're so independent and are proud to celebrate and screen the films that you rarely see anywhere else. If you love world cinema, then you should definitely become a member!

Clapham Picturehouse

Clapham Picturehouse shows a cooler side to cinema. It has a heavy reputation for being one of the best, the staff are movie-mad and the relaxed atmosphere will make you feel right at home. There's even outdoor seating in the warmer months! Tickets can get a little pricey but if you pay the subscription you can take advantage of free movies and discounts. Students can also sign up to the E4 Slackers Club, which a free-to-join club where you can catch special previews for free every month.
