When you think of Amazon, you probably don’t realise it can help service-based businesses, as well as product businesses, to grow.
That’s exactly the mindset that Farnham-based Amazon Agency Unicorn Orange is trying to change with its upcoming event: Unicorn Orange Media Labs: The Surrey Business Amazon Growth Summit.
Taking place on 16 September 2026 at the Bush Hotel, Farnham, the event promises talks on Amazon success stories from Rhodri Ferrier of Waken Mouthcare and Jessica Barnett of Logpile.com, alongside specialist expertise from Ed Sweet ACA, co-founder of Unicorn Orange; Prof. Lyndsay Duthie from the University for the Creative Arts; and globally ranked Top 100 CMO Jarmila Yu, among others.
By the end of the day, guests will have learned how Amazon could help grow their product and service-based businesses through Amazon’s Demand-Side Platform (DSP) — a tool powerful enough to put a first video ad in front of Amazon customers on Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video, all without selling a single product in the store.
Layer in Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), and businesses get something most SMEs never see: a clear, data-backed view of exactly how those ads translate into customer behaviour, rather than relying on guesswork about brand awareness.
For £10.25, attendees will also receive a hot lunch and be entered into a raffle, in which four winners will receive a bespoke, professionally produced creative asset (photography, animation, or graphic design) made free of charge by UCA students as part of the agency’s Creative Sprint programme.
Ordinarily, assets such as these could cost thousands of pounds and are one of the primary blockers for brands getting started on Amazon DSP.
If selected to win, your brand will be one step closer to launching with DSP and reaching millions of new potential customers.
The event has been made possible thanks to a £45,000 grant from Surrey County Council, supporting the council’s Economic Growth Strategy 2025–2035, which recognises the role digital marketing and platforms such as Amazon can play in helping local businesses grow.
But who are Unicorn Orange?
Founded in 2020 by Sarah and Ed Sweet, Unicorn Orange offers full-service Amazon account management, retail media, and advanced advertising.
Sarah’s experience working at Amazon, as well as for global brands such as Nestlé and L’Oréal, combined with Ed’s background as an ACA-qualified accountant, offers a unique finance-Amazon fusion that provides clients with data-driven, experienced marketing expertise.
Alongside developing Unicorn Orange as a business through expanded offerings such as Amazon DSP advertising and AMC analysis, Ed and Sarah have also dedicated themselves to developing the careers of graduates and young people through their own Graduate Scheme.
Now in its fourth year, the scheme has employed 13 university graduates, helping them enter the working world and build their marketing and advertising skills.
Supporting young people extends beyond Unicorn Orange’s own business
All net proceeds from the event will go to Young Enterprise, a UK charity that helps more than half a million young people build the skills they need to thrive in entrepreneurship.
The charity prioritises confidence building, financial education, and enhancing employability for students aged 16-24, helping them access opportunities that build their future.
By bringing together local businesses, students, and Young Enterprise, Unicorn Orange is excited to create lasting opportunities for growth across the Surrey business community.
Unicorn Orange looks forward to welcoming you to the Surrey Business Amazon Growth Summit in September. If you’re interested in finding out more or want to book your ticket, secure your place at:
“Most Surrey businesses assume Amazon is only relevant if you sell a physical product through it, but Amazon display advertising reaches customers across the web and streaming platforms, well beyond Amazon.co.uk.
The power of the Amazon Marketing Cloud allows businesses to take insights one step further, giving them a true understanding of how customers are exposed to ads and how this influences behaviour.
This day isn’t Amazon experts talking at people: it’s local business owners like Rhodri and Jessica telling their own Amazon growth stories, alongside people like Helene from Surrey Chamber of Commerce and Tracey from the Federation of Small Businesses, who back Surrey businesses every day. That’s what this grant is actually for.”
