During the coronavirus outbreak, the Royal Opera House has proudly announced that they will be offering a free programme of broadcasts, music masterclasses, cultural insights as well as both ballet and opera screenings. They will also be offering virtual viewers the chance to take a rare look behind the scenes of one of the UK's most famous institutions.
As events have been postponed and productions halted, the Royal Opera House has now instead decided to create a packed schedule full of free live content for audiences to access anywhere, at any time.
The following productions are offered on demand and free on their Facebook and Youtube channels:
- Peter and the Wolf, The Royal Ballet, 2010 – 27 March 2020, 7 pm
- Acis and Galatea, The Royal Opera, 2009 – 3 April 2020, 7 pm
- Così fan tutte, The Royal Opera, 2010 – 10 April 2020, 7 pm
- The Metamorphosis, The Royal Ballet, 2013 – 17 April 2020, 7 pm
Creating the new #OurHouseToYourHouse initiative, major opera and ballet will be streamed every Friday at 7 pm for an entire month. And seeing as your Friday nights are not as busy anymore, you might as well infuse yourself in the art and beauty of the productions. Is there a better to pass the time?
