Sarah Adams, a mother of five from Banstead, Surrey, has turned her passion for Halloween into a yearly spectacle, transforming her home into a real-life Addams Family house. From July to October, her home overflows with horror-themed decorations, including cobwebs, dolls, and pumpkins, with favourites like Chucky and Tiffany.
Her Instagram, @the_adams_family_home, showcases her ever-growing collection, often sourced from high street staples such as TK Maxx, Primark, and HomeSense.
Sarah’s fascination with horror began in childhood, but she now shares the excitement with her children. The family, who even share the surname Adams with the famous fictional Addams, embrace the spooky season by dressing as the iconic characters. Sarah describes her daughter Bonnie as a natural Wednesday Addams, while her partner Sam channels Gomez’s romantic flair.
Their Halloween fun extends beyond décor. The family enjoys themed movie nights with films like The Addams Family and A Nightmare Before Christmas, making cookies, carving pumpkins, and enjoying Halloween stockings filled with spooky treats. After Halloween, the Adams’ home morphs into a festive yet eerie Christmas, complete with a Chucky-themed tree.
While Sarah admits the Halloween decor is partly for her own inner child, her kids fully embrace the fright-filled fun, creating a unique and memorable tradition that continues to grow year after year.
"Welcome to my personal haunt, where every day is a tribute to the spine-chilling, the eerie, and the downright terrifying," Sarah captioned, "This is not just decor; it’s a love letter to the art of horror, a canvas where each piece is carefully curated to celebrate the beauty found in darkness. So, step in, if you dare, and let every glance be an encounter with the sublime terror that dances at the edges of our imagination."
