Opting for a retirement property doesn’t mean you have to compromise on quality or comfort. Jane McGowan finds out more

PegasusLife is bringing the idea of retirement living into the 21st century. The company has opted for sites that are situated in the heart of towns or villages, served by good transport links and which have established communities with busy social calendars.
Its latest project, which is due to be completed in winter this year, is Moor’s Nook in Horsell near Woking.
The village of Horsell, which found fame as the site of the Martian landing in local author HG Wells’ novel The War of the Worlds, is a thriving spot, less than a mile from Woking’s bustling town centre.
The area has a number of impressive Arts and Crafts properties, an architectural concept that PegasusLife has opted to replicate in its development of 34 one- and two bedroom apartments at Moor’s Nook.
The building has been designed in a horseshoe and as well as the individual properties, includes a shared lounge, social kitchen and outdoor terrace. There is also a courtyard garden.
The living spaces are open plan to offer a light and airy feel, while the kitchens are fitted with integrated unitsto maximise storage andstyle. There are built-in wardrobes in the master bedrooms and all bathrooms have walk-in showers.
- Prices at Moor’s Nook start at £371, 950 and are available exclusively for people aged over 60. For more information, visit: moorsnook.co.uk or call 01483 431 071
