2. Chobham Golf Club

- Chobham says it is “Surrey’s Friendliest Golf Club” and, true to form, it does allow non-members to play.
- The 18 holes, par-69 course will make an exciting challenge for any golfer. It won a Silver award in the HSBC Regional Course Rankings.

3. Clandon Regis Golf Club

- Known for its friendliness and welcoming atmosphere, Clandon Regis has been a members club since May 1996.
- An excellent 6485-yard, par 72 courses set among beautiful hills and woodland make it challenging, but also a joy to play.

4. Dorking Golf Club

- Established in the late 19th century, Dorking is a traditional parkland course.
- The course is short at 5186 yards long but is actually quite a tough challenge.

5. Foxhills Golf Club

- Foxhills has two 18-hole courses, which have staged a number of high-profile events, as well as a fun nine-hole course.
- Listeners to BBC’s Radio 5 Live voted the 14th on the Longcross Course “one of the greatest holes ever played”.

6. Guildford Golf Club

- Founded long ago, in 1886, the Guildford Golf Club is one of Surrey’s longest standing golfing destinations.
- There are a number of tournaments, seniors’ and juniors’, men and women’s, as well as other events, so there’s always something for everyone.

7. Kingswood Golf Club

- A 6954-yard course, designed by the legendary five-time Open winner, James Braid, and recently updated with a £500,000 investment.
- There is a real community sense to membership, making Kingswood a pleasure to visit on regular occasions.
- Kingswood offers Junior Membership for 10-18-year-olds, as well as academy membership for those less experienced.

8. Leatherhead Golf Club

9. Merrist Wood Golf Club

- One of Surrey’s longest golf courses – measuring just under 7000 yards – Merrist Wood is a distance challenge for most golfers.
- Tuition packages are designed to work with your current skill level, with a grass driving range available for training on during the summer.
- The club has over 50 individual competitions throughout the year and plenty of team opportunities as well.

- Tucked away behind the dense forest, New Zealand Golf Club is seen by many as a secret treat.
- Set among dense heathland, the classic short course provides a tough game.

11. Puttenham Golf Club

- Par 71, 18-hole course measuring 6220 yards with hidden greens and challengingly slim fairways.
- Visitors are welcome to the club but must book their game in advance.

12. Pyrford Golf Club

- 6256-yard, par 72, course notable for its 23 acres of lakes and the strategic thinking required to navigate it.
- ‘New Member Integration Scheme’ arranges games between those who have just joined and established players of a similar ability.

13. Redhill and Reigate Golf Club

Redhill & Reigate Golf, Clarence Lodge, Pendleton Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 6LB
- The club is home to the second oldest course in Surrey.
- It is described as a ‘members’ golf club open for visitors’ and there is no joining fee.
- The course is not too long (5272 yards off the white tees) and can be played in under four hours. The golfing test is fair and challenging enough to bring you back for more.
- There are well organised junior, main club, seniors, men and ladies sections, offering social and competitive golf throughout the year with newcomers always welcome.
- New junior members currently pay a rate which works out a little more than £1 a week in the first year with free social membership for parents.

15. The Richmond Golf Course
Sudbrook Ln, Richmond TW10 7AS
- Designed by Tom Dunn in 1891, the classic par 70, 6091-yard course in Richmond Park is beautiful to play on.
- Visitors are welcome to play with no booking from Monday to Friday, playing on other days depends on availability.
- The Richmond’s clubhouse is a Grade-I listed Palladian Mansion, which was completed in 1720.

16. St George’s Hill Golf Course

- One of the most renowned courses in Surrey, St George’s Hill is ranked in the top 20 English courses by top100golfcourses.co.uk and set in the private St George’s Hill estate.

18. Sutton Green Golf Course

- The course was co-designed by former world number one golfer Laura Davies.
- It is a wonderfully tough 6400-yard par 71, set on secluded undulating terrain and located between Woking and Guildford.
