With warm days finally here, it’s time to keep a weather eye on pollution levels and rethink your beauty essentials, says Fiona Adams

Face up to pollution
According to Friends of the Earth, pollution contributes to 40,000 early deaths a year in the UK and it is linked to lung cancer, heart disease, asthma and diabetes. Not only does the inhalation of these invisible, toxic particles cause internal health issues, they can also play havoc with your skin, contributing to ageing by depleting collagen and aggravating conditions such as acne and eczema. So, in addition to a good sunscreen, think about adding one or two of the following to your beauty bag this summer:

This fabulous product is perfect to combat the drying effects of the city, commuting or hard water (as well as flying). A refreshing spray, Flash Defence protects against free radicals and helps neutralise fatigue and dullness.
