What the process is like from start to finish
From initial measurements and design to the finished installation, see how Lahart Carpentry's bespoke fitted furniture transforms spaces — just like in these before-and-after examples.

If you look closely, you’ll see the shape left on the floor by some existing skirting, along with the sloped ceiling on the right.
The client wanted to use that exact space to build storage cupboards on the left and a modern shelving unit on the right. After taking measurements and agreeing on a design, the project was commissioned.
During the technical drawing stage, the client decided to add some low-level doors to the shelving to create extra hidden storage. Here’s how it looked after installation:
The initial installation stage

The units were made from Medite MDF, a high-quality brand. The green parts are moisture-resistant MDF, used in certain areas for extra durability. The open shelves are 36mm thick, and the doors are shaker style.
Like many in the London fitted furniture trade, Lahart Carpentry installs the units first, then paints them afterwards.
You can choose between hand-finishing and spray-finishing. This client opted for hand-painted MDF, but Lahart can also work with raw wood veneers or man-made veneers, such as the raw oak veneer shelving unit they created for another project, shown below.

Need more wardrobe space? What's achievable...
There are lots of furniture styles in fashion right now, but sometimes it’s the classic details that work best for a client and their space. Mixing classic and modern styles can also create a really striking look.
Lahart Carpentry
Here’s a simple, classic wardrobe that fits the space beautifully. It features beaded doors — basically flat doors with a wood moulding added in a pattern on the front.

Next, we have a Victorian-style wardrobe with even more detailed features. The doors are shaker style with inset moulding, topped with a traditional cornice and fluted columns along the sides. These design choices gave the wardrobe a beautifully classic look, just what the client wanted.

Then there’s the option for a completely modern look, like this client who asked Lahart Carpentry to create a glamorous walk-in wardrobe featuring mirrors inside panelled doors — a design inspired by classic Georgian-style door panels. If you look through the mirrors, you can see the full U-shaped design of this walk-in.
