Over 25 local, amateur artists successfully exhibited their work in Rowledge, Farnham, this week, having just completed a 14 week art class for beginners and improvers.
The standard of the artists’ work was met with high praise from local residents, particularly as many students had never tried drawing or painting prior to starting the structured course in the Spring.
Paintings and drawings included detailed likenesses of dogs, horses, landscapes, seascapes, flowers, London skylines and St Mark’s Square in Venice and were rendered in a variety of mediums, including oil pastels, watercolours, charcoal, pastels, acrylics and ink.
One student said, ‘The course has been so much fun, giving me a fantastic introduction to so many useful tips, techniques, artists and mediums. I never thought I would be able to paint or be a creative person, but I have been inspired, learned so much and have surprised myself with how much I have achieved in just a few months’.
The next 14 week Autumn course will start in September at The Rowledge Club, Rowledge.
