Landscape gardener from Chessington takes an unusual approach to finding his Valentine
Spurning the likes of eHarmony and Tinder, Gerald Abrahams, from Chessington, took to the streets with a placard emblazoned with the words ‘Hot brunette wanted for 2014!’
He has been seen with his signs at Waterloo Station and also closer to home at Bentalls in Kingston.
“I just needed to do something different for 2014” said Gerald. “I’ve had enough of internet dating and thought this would be something light-hearted that people might find amusing and bring a smile to their face.
“I just had a few short-term relationships and needed to do something a bit more, a direct approach.”
Dubbed #WaterlooRomeo by Twitter, the 39 year old has since appeared on ITV’s Daybreak and national radio. A fussy fellow, Gerald says his perfect woman must have brown eyes and brunette hair, “must like dogs and landscapers” and be “practical and outgoing with a good sense of humour.”
But you’ll be pleased to hear that his strategy has had the desired effect - he has been inundated with requests from potential suitors: “To say I am swamped would be putting it mildly” he told us.
