Young Children and Touch Screens
Many young children now have access to touch screens, whether to watch their favourite TV programme or play games. New technologies bring with them a number of questions: are the devices harmful for children or can they actually benefit children’s learning?
Dr Jo Van Herwegen is an Associate Professor in Developmental Psychology at Kingston University and her research focuses on best practices for supporting young children’s learning. In this talk, Jo will discuss the benefits and negative outcomes of touch screen use on children’s development, providing evidence from research studies.
