A nostalgic look at Woking that includes the railway station in the last years of steam trains, the town centre before it was redeveloped, the cycle speedway craze of the 1950s, floods at Old Woking in 1968, and Woking's CND group on the march! The talk will be given by David Rose, a local historian who specialises in the modern history of Woking and Guildford. He edits the ‘Peeps into the Past’ page in the ‘Woking News & Mail’.
Advance booking required. Talks last for approximately 45 minutes with a short time for questions. Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the evening talks. Wine and juice are available to purchase at evening talks.
